Camp 18 of the Corporation of the Seven Wardens is pleased to announce that the Obligation Ceremony will take place on Sunday , March 22nd 2026 at Grey Eagle Event Centre
This registration page is Open only to U of C students graduating Spring 2026, and will be held in person. There will be one event that morning at 10:30 AM. You may purchase guest tickets at $10 each when you register. We will email a reminder to you about a week prior to the date. Space is limited for this event so Students from other universities and professional members may register in September for the Fall ceremony on November 14th.
Please register with an Email address that you check regularly!! After registering you will receive an email from the camp confirming your registration. Please check that your spam filters are set to allow our emails. Please, check the FAQ page for answers to all the usual questions.
We will need your ring size! You can have your ring sized on campus in the student services office for the coming ceremony. You can always go to any jewelry shop to get the pinky finger of your working hand sized for a standard North American ring, it will be 1 to 12, in full and half sizes only. There should be no charge for this.
Graduates from other Canadian universities and APEGA members or any other provincial regulator (EIT, P.Eng.) will be welcome to attend the next event in November, Registration will open in September for that. Sorry, APEGA PL (Eng) members are not eligible.
You must attend!!! Everyone who wishes to wear the Iron Ring must attend a Ceremony and undertake the Obligation in the presence of their peers. This is at the core of the tradition of the Ritual of the Calling of an Engineer. If you register but are unable to attend the ceremony for any reason, we will not be able to send your ring. We are a volunteer group and don’t do refunds, if you miss the event we are sorry, you will need to register and pay for the next one. If you need to, you can cancel and get a refund up to the close of registration at the end of February. We will close the doors at the advertised time and do not allow anyone to enter after the ceremony has begun. Please be aware that you will need to provide identification to sign in.
Guests are allowed. You must book your guest tickets at $10 each when you register, maximum of 4 per attendee. Be sure to book the number of guest spots you need, the hall has a firecode maximum that we are not allowed to exceed.
Guest Ring Presenters are allowed. You must provide their name when you register, they must be registered as a P. Eng, or be retired, and they count as a guest. Guest presenters must be wearing their ring that day without exception. They must be registered in advance so that we can validate their status, and they will check in at the registration table on the the day for their ID and instructions.
Can I take pictures during the Ceremony? Yes, But… while we do allow pictures and video, we discourage this during the ceremony. In their excitement, people tend to hold their cameras up, standup, and wander in front of the other guests, which can be very distracting and upsetting during the big event. If you stay seated and respectful of others, we won’t object. But, if you interfere with the view or enjoyment of our other guests who are there for the same reason you are, we will ask you to return to your seat, to lower your camera, or in the extreme case to leave the hall.
Dress Code – Although we don’t have a dress code, just about everybody will dress up in business attire for the event.
We have ring exchange program. If your ring doesn’t fit very well after you receive it you can simply exchange it on the day of the event. Check the Ring Exchange page for the details of how to exchange at any other time. The very best option is to get your finger sized at the student services desk on Campus. We typically hold a ring exchange session on campus about a week after the event.
